        lol.
If I wanted motion blur, I would've stuck with my old TFT monitor.
I guess it's because (if I play) I play to do the best I can, which goes better when my vision isn't impaired.

But apparently a lot of people like 'realism' so good job on the mut.

Motion blur is not realism. It only happens with camera effects, not human eyes.

So far motion blur to me sucked in most games blurring the weapons and so on, but this actually feels perfect.

              Nice Job!!!

And, for the time being, games consist of what could be likened to camera effects. Until I'm getting FPS into the several hundreds, with object-based motion blur (as in real life), some slight camera-based blur serves to smooth out the relatively low FPS (yes, even at 60) such that they appear more like something one would see with the human eye.

Actually motion blur does happen with the human eyes. Look at a car's tires as it drives by you. Wave your hand really fast in front of your face. Turn off the lights and swing your view across your monitor. You'll see brief after images in the latter two cases, in other words, motion blur.
The catch is that it's very subtle, and your mind knows it happens, so it ignores it unless you're looking for it.
Ultimately, UT/Gears' motion blur is just an early kind, what they call camera based, as opposed to object based which would be more accurate, but regardless, the effect is, thankfully, subtle enough in this case that it's not really obtrusive, and actually a little more true to proper human vision.
You don't focus perfectly on the world around you when you're whipping your view around as much as in a typical UT match, this just replicates that a bit.
But, of course, it's a stylistic choice; that's why it's a mutator that people who want it can check out, and people who don't can ignore it...

I think some of you are confusing object based motion blur with this motion blur full screen effect. I did notice the engine does have a few variables regarding object based motion blur but I'll take that further in a bigger mod perhaps, later on, which should remove the need for a full screen motion blur.

I'll admit though hey, I dont like motion blur much especially when its applied all the time. Its good to help with the feeling of speed as in NFS MW where it only kicks in after a top speed but after awhile all the full screen effects can do your head in. I should add a disclaimer about motion sickness

Yeah sorry about that, I didnt see your thread until just before I was releasing already I was actually working from the request in this thread: http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=594600 so I didnt do it just to annoy you

Id be interested in seeing your method though as it might be cleaner than mine, it might be worth posting your code and thread up in here as well up to you though.

Thanks for the support guys but I cant really take much credit for the actual settings, all I did is turn it back on (hacked around a hack ) but yeah thats all Epic hey so direct your thanks or lack thereof that aways

I really didn't notice any change on my 7800 besides an FPS drop. Maybe it needs to have a configurations menu where the player can make it more or less intense?

I have noticed the effect is much more noticeable in 3rd person or when you use the ActionCam mutator. But in First person it is less perceptible ... I think it is fine ... works great for me in either config. However letting it be configurable with a slider bar would be cool.

Slider bar is certainly doable, Im just alittle annoyed at the UT3 UI's atm working on some reusable code which is doing my head in

Also there is more than just 1 property to adjust for motion blur there is a few, strength is certainly one of them but that doesnt really relate to more or less motion blur as such. Anyways I'll see what I can do over the next few days or so
