    Campgrounds (yes, another one)

    I know there are others floating around and usually I wouldn't create a map others are making, but I was given incentive to remake it myself.
    Thought I better post some screens before more people start trying to remake it.
    I'm about 90% done, no pickups or anything yet, just getting the look right. Still more light needing to be added, although it's not as dark as it appears in the screens when you walk around it. I might add a bit of lighting variety too, by adding some blueish lights.
    Scaling is spot on, you can still make the jump where the first screenshot is, and it feels not too big, not too small.
    I've been copying this directly from Quake 3, as previous UT versions have been inferior to the original imo.

          Very nice, keep going and give us an Alpha asap so we can tell ya where the doors are too small

          Btw, call it DM6 instead of Campgrounds, shows that it's more of a remake than all the other versions.

            well u can double jump and then walldodge, and just about not hit your head through the doors, so certainly not too low. The doors in fact are custom made in 3dsmax - easily editable
            Should be fully playable in another week or so I would think, will probly release a beta then for everyone to get their bug zapping teeth into.

              Can't have too many good versions of a map if they all offer something different for UT3 imo.

                yeah as soon as you get it to a testing stage cook it up for the Ps3 and i will test it for you and make sure everything is working right.

                  Keep FPS in mind, whichever version plays the best with the best FPS is what we will use in our tournaments most likely. Looks good so far!

                        Question: where do you get the catwalk meshes, the ones with the neon lamps on the sides for example. I've opened every LT packages I could find but I didn't see them catwalks.

                          Scaling is the biggest concern:

                          -Make sure the main area above the amp isn't too large, that is, it isn't as big or bigger than its counterpart in UT2004.

                          -The jump pad at the pillars should be strong enough to propel you so that you can walldodge and reach the bridge without having to touch the pillars.

                          -A simple jump-to-walldodge should bring you from the Rocket bridge to the Sniper Nest.

                          Secondly, frame rates: make sure this map isn't too heavy with old machines.

                            How far are you? Do you already have a clue when it's ready to be released (in Alpha or Beta form)?
