Galtanor's Invasion [Beta][Pics][Updated 10/26/2008][v022][Patch 1.3]

    I can get invasion v20 to work fine on our windows server patched to 1.3, but on our linux server which is also patched to 1.3 it just crashes when the gametype is selected, any1 else having trouble running it on a linux server?

    Up to v18 and under patch 1.2 it worked fine on a linux host.

        I do have another thing. Is there any way to can remove the map cycle from the Invasion ini? When I try to change the map cycle in Web Admin, I also have to change the one in the invasion INI. Kind of a pain.

        BTW, we do really appreciate the work you've done on getting invasion back into UT3.
        I will have the mechanicalgolem fixed in the next version.

        You should not need a map cycle in the UTGaltanorsInvasion.ini file. If the game saves one there, I recommend deleting it and then marking UTGaltanorsInvasion.ini as read only.

        Oh, and if server admins could please let me know what options you would like made into command line parameters I will see if I can add them.

        Patch 1.3 for dedicated Linux servers appears to still be in Beta. If you are having problems with it, you might post on the Server Administration forum.

          K heads up for every1, we will play invasion on mi5 uk (windows) server from now on, the nl server is on linux and i cant get it running there till epic supports it properly.

          btw the disturber sentinel turret is still bugged, it crashed both me and Davison when it is shooting the monsters so i disabled it again and server worked fine. I have also disabled map specific waves and run just a default custom wave till Galt can fix the wave selection error.

            I like the weapon effect Mr evil has made, would be nice to fight a monster with this unique attack power. Its instant hit and attacks EVERY player around the monster in a simultaneous burst of energy. BUT have it target the side of a player so that players will only get damaged if they walk into the electric beam.

            This will add some strategy since players could easily beat the electric creature by just standing still since it would always slightly miss the player but they have to balance that with being a sitting duck for other monsters trying to hit them.

            You need to install the sentinelgear mut to see what i mean, it rly does look awesome when you see it light up the map.



            We are lacking monsters that can target multiple players at the same time, this electrical fiend would be perfect.

              hey galtantor is it possible for the point system to be counted on damage?that would make invasion more fair because of many people taking your kills.It was also in ut2004

              That would be great if it was scaled on damage

                  Yes, I have seen it. I like the idea, but I will not use Mr. Evil's work with out his permission. If he is willing to let me, I can make a weapon for one the monsters using his effect. If not, I can make my own, but it will be a bit as I have other things I am working on right now.

                  Yes, if you go into the weapon replacement mutator, they are all listed there. Keep in mind tho, they do not all work the same when a player has one as when a monster has one... (monsters alter fire rates and damage). Also, not all the effects work in 1st person (for example, the lasers are broke again.)

                    Go ahead and take it. Code, effects, sounds - all free for the taking from any mutator I make, except the meshes or anything else that isn't mine to give.

                      Same problem sniper had, we got to the wave which has the spidergolem and it crashed the server, i will remove it for now.

                        I have an 8800gt, i played galtanor invasion on both the lighthouse and tornado map, fps was smooth, gameplay was alot of fun.

                        I was really surprised i could play on both maps without any lag.

                        Best moment is using a deemer in lighthouse, watch the whole place blow apart!

                          Blockland cannot be played online, the bricks would be all out of position before you even start.


                          I have not attempted to host a physx map server yet, only played offline, sadly not everybody has the hardware to run it, but i will prolly set it up privately to have a bit of fun with friends, hope they work online.

                          DM-nowhere still only works offline and is broke online.

                              Most likely, yes. There is still a lot of work to be done. I am in the middle of attempting to get the resizing working as well... so it will be a bit.
