    Making of CTF-Exude

    Ok, so it's been a while since i made a new map. I have ideas for a DM/TDM and WAR map, however. I've started work on a CTF map. I've not done a CTF map before, and havent played normal weapon CTF much but have played a ton of iCTF.

    So hopefully this plays ok. I've had the layout done in BSP and run around on it for a bit, modified a few bits here and there and i still am chaging minor things. layout wise, but i've begun with mesh work

    It's set on a ship, not sure if this ship is stranded, in the sea or what yet. But its on a ship. Ships are cool, i like ships.

    Anyway, here's a shot to tide you over for now. The one meshed room i have, and the room i am starting on meshing and a overview of the BSP layout, or one half of it.

    The lighting is a major WIP so i wouldn't take much notice of that right now

    So yeah, stay tuned for more of CTF-Exude.

    It looks interesting, and quite a major project. You should have it stranded on rocks, with the hull ripped open (would explain the water).

    Also with regards to the meshes used for the doors... nice idea, but that texture will look awful being blown up to that size.

      Cheers, yeah alot of the materials will need work/new ones.

      Not sure on the ship yet, it'll probably work into the map soon

      And here's a little update. More stuff needed on the walls, lighting not final, water material is **** etc.

                Just wanted to offer ya a fast word of encouragement.

                I know you do some insanely high quality work!! - (you really put a great effort into your releases) I'd wager this one will be on par with your other releases. Good luck with this CB! -

                    Those bubbles do look realistic - but they are a minor detail. Get the mapping done and dusted first. I am prey to this as well though, I focus on the small details rather than the larger picture. If you can get the meshes done, the navigation sorted out then you can release a alpha/beta for people to test the layout and gameplay. Then you can focus on the small things while people are testing.

                      Im working on all the other areas bit by bit but sometimes you need a break from mesh work

                        Do what you have done with previous maps and get some private testing done. I would be more than happy to test out the layout and flow. Just make sure you have all the core construction meshes in place :P

                          It will be avaliable as an alpha/early beta when ready

                          As for now i test with people i play with n a regular basis and will ask other people via IRC, you'll all get your turn soon enough

                          After some basic testing a few slight changes have been made and some other thoughts underway.

                          As for now, here is what will be one of the sniper rooms behind/above a teams base will look like roughly, nothing on the inside, but that's not overly important at the moment

                          And you can see some of the rest of the map.

                              Hopefully i can get on with more meshing now that i have my breakable glass working online, or it seems to work from tests.
