    lol??....not sure...i think it s very important point and it need to be discuted !
    lot of peeps will never dl a pack if half of the maps havent botpathing

    hopefully quite everyone add botpathing in his maps and ur opinion on that is very personnal and original...haha^^

    perhaps 1x can write somewhere if all maps include in the pack/listing contain/use "classical" options ( cooked, with botpathing ;with preview pict ; free of big bugs aka tested...important imho and not really a good idea to mix betas n finals in a "pack/DL")

    ...and why should we stop to discute each time we dont agree on some points?...noone is gonna send ya a punitive comando or complain that humans sometimes have differents opinions

      I am confused that you want to make your opinion as a standart and my opinion is "haha"... ok, however for what the map is made of, botpaths are not necessary. thats it. If ppl want to have it in a map-pack for a wider community (offline players also) then I see 3 possibilities:
      1. let it stay as it is
      2. someone adds botpaths
      3. kick it out of the mappack

      unless I play only online in the competitive community I don`t care about botpaths. Its more or less a waste of time because bots are only a warm up for the warmup. just my opinion. So to sumup, I don´t care if the map is in the mappack or not.

        You're in luck, there is no mappack!

          srry largo i absolutly dont want to make ur opinion as "haha" and mine as standart...i m a user like you...we share opinions and ideas but please open your mind and watch around you! how many maps without botpathing? how many users are happy with no botpathing? your opinion still original ;very personnal and quite unique...no offense while saying that! it s just the true...but if u cant hear it; it s ok .... srry again for the offense

          .... i dont want that someone tell me "the discussion is closed" lets talk about the mappack...what are we doing here?? i dont talk about anything else!

          u know ;i played a lot online (i prefer to play with humans too) but the game is so unpopulated that it happen sometimes that u meet bots online...each time i meet bots on a server with maps n no botpathing i just leave the place....not really fun to watch bots stuck on walls or on weapons bases...

          + u told u dont care if ur map is or isnt in the mappack...lol...u know mate perhaps are we talking about the maps in general and not only about yours

          ok now i shut ma mouth to not influence or hurt more ...oioioi

          @skarjmaster:lol...hopefully

            Holy smokes, i have a lot of catching up to do - i'll get the latest links and such updated in the first post later today.

            BOT PATHING:
            As far as bot-pathing, as i remember with the UT series AI has always been one of its better features, what was nice was a server set to a certain amount of players and when players would drop in and out bots would come and go to keep the teams even.

            It doesn't take much to do a basic AI implementation, while it does take more effort to thoroughly test it through and make sure there aren't any small bugs, (bots getting stuck / hung in certain area's, etc.) still it's not that much.

            Speaking for myself only;
            If i have time to build a map i certainly have time or will make time to include functional AI, in fact i will spend extra time to iron out minor AI kinks if i'm aware they exist or they are discovered during testing.

            That said i respect others individual choice not to include AI, (to each is own) and i hope they would keep an open mind that doing so could hurt their maps best chances for a successful reception and over all popularity.
            FEEDBACK & OPENMINDEDNESS:
            To me again this is basic open mindedness, i've seen others become stubborn and adamant about things from installers, to colors, to scaling, to bot pathing, if you have a room full of people saying there might be something to this, might be worth it to listen? - Evidently for some it isn't - IMO that mentality is mapping taboo (might as well not share your work with the public and just make stuff for private use)

            An important ingredient for any successful mapper IMO is a willingness to keep an open mind, have a look at Thalos's CTF-Magma remake thread, at first he says possibly to include the original 'KR-Infernal' music, then changed his mind (it appears he might have been struggling with a reliable implementation, which he explained in so many words) - then as more suggested and requested he decided to keep an open mind and try it again, at which point there was even some technical help & suggestions, the point being he kept an open mind rather than making excuses or refusing to at least try, in the end we get his faithful CTF-Magma with an original audio track and those who don't like it can turn the music down or off. That is a perfect example of what i call 'the right stuff' i wish more mappers possessed.

            ATTITUDES & MUTUAL RESPECT:

            It's unfortunate when designers become angry toward someone over their suggestions, or want to make them or consider them an enemy over differences of opinion. The opposite of this is bad also, (to become vengeful, spiteful, or angry because someone doesn't implement your feedback or suggestions even if you feel you are 100% correct)

            IMO - we're better off as a community to respect someones individual wishes even if it goes against the majority. - Furthermore there is roughly about 2-5% of the population who are never satisfied with anything; (*no matter what*) here, there, or anywhere, you can't please everyone 100% of the time, i think this awareness should be a designers golden compass, but also keeping in mind that having people display strong opinion(s) is perhaps a good place to be rather than not drawing any attention at all.

                no problem.
                I know my opinion is unique, but that makes things interesting. mabey its because im not an original mapper anymore. i spend a lot of time in mapping in ut99.. 10 years a go.. my focus is just on playing online, not more anymore. So at the end, from my perspective the map has a lot of possibilities to improve it, at least the botpathing. but i dont have the time to do more and as its played already theres no real necessity.
                but as i already mentioned, if there is a guy out there who wants to improve the map, feel free and do so.

                      I don't understand something, why do some end with SE, some end with XL. What is the difference between the ones that end with SE and XL and the ones that don't end with it? Example: Stalwart and StalwartXL.

                        "se" often mean "special edition"(sometimes "second edition") and "xl" is often for "extended " versions ...like xxl pants..

                          There are unofficial acronyms used since many years. Check here at the bottom of my page to know the most used one

                          As for XL, it wasn't enough used to add it in the list. It mean it is more visual oriented. A pretty version if you like. Think of your Ford Mustang with the "GT" instead of the basic model

                            Yeah...never thought of it that way, but you're right, definitely one of the better examples I've seen from those extensions.

                                Too lazy to look...is there a DM-Curse5 at all? I really loved Curse4 from UT2004. I believe an older variant of Curse may have been in UT99, too, can't tell now.

                                EDIT: I'll be danged...they sure are, guess I didn't see the list hard enough...
