@ Angelus - FYI CTF-Infested was already remade, however with a new name and theme, wich IMO fits UT3 better. It's called Safeguard. But if you're into old school do your thing.

BTW can you or someone else provide us with a mirror for the CTF Classic Mappack? I can't find the download link on that German (right?) page.

I can relate - i get very busy this time of year .. (sports) my son won his first football game of the season over the weekend! - Funny how i keep ending up working on that football map every time its football season .. ((coincidence?))


Any way as far as the remake adventures go, i'll repost these screens of CTF-Maul in this thread also in case anyone missed them ..

Yep she can walk. And jump, and open cupboards, flush credit cards....you name it... she does it . Didn't know about infested already being remade with a new name (keep the name mappers!) so I will pick another one to work on .

I literally jumped off my chair when I read the word MAUL. And those screens are nice (the original was a little "dusky" though).

Cool glad to hear there are some other Maul fans out here, IMO it was one of the best CTF maps included with 2K03 / 04 - a unique experience with the z-axis terrain and rolling hills ..

I agree the original was an evening / dusk setting, i've darkened it up to a reasonable level with out making it a night time map, the U3 engine is an interesting animal when it comes to shadows and lighting .. (some say 2k04 was better in that sense still to this day - that is another story) I will say this map runs and plays like a champ so far.

If your interested in beta testing the map sign up at the UOF site and we'll see if we can get ya in on beta2 - which should be ready any day or as soon as i feel a little motivation .. (beta1 went off with out a hitch)

I personally like having a variety of maps to choose from. I have noticed that 2 remakes of the same map can have a completely different feel. Not to mention some people have less skill (and can slaughter a good map) then some of you other guys that have been mapping for a long time. Also some people will over busy a map, while others can really find the right balance. It really depends on styles and having a good eye.

Wow Maul looks very good. That map was a blast, also very popular. I'm surprised none has tried to remake it yet.
I am really looking forward to playing Maul again.

Nope, I don't even have the UT3 version of that one, but you can check the usual spots for it.

You have to admit SkaarjMaster is resourceful ..
