I think it's been done. There's a regular DM-Corrugation (called DM-Corrugation) remake for UT3 and a Brookdale Nitwitts version (called DM-BN-Corrugation). I haven't played the BN version yet, but here are my comments on the regular version that I never posted online until now:

"no player load in preview shot, map slows a little during spectating or just starting the match, great layout, looks like great remake, bots tend to have trouble in the sewers"

Glacier and CTF Classic Map Pack

OK, so it took me a while to respond, but I have a map called CTF-Glacier][ (also called Artic Glacier in txt file) installed for UT by the author calling himself Some and nothing for UT2003 or UT2004. Is the one you linked for UT3 a remake of this one?

Also, has anyone tried the maps from the CTF Classic Map Pack yet (BrokenLimits, Command, Duku, Sprinta and Terra)? Anyone know if a thread exists for these maps here because I can't find it and if so that would explain why the link for them was to a download page? If I was to comment on them, would it be best to make a new thread, post the comments in this thread, or not bother?

          EDIT: Anyone?

DavidM went by the handle Some for a short while (allegedly)

I have played the map pack you speak of. Command is my favorite. As far as comments and reviews go I have no idea if there is an original thread , my suggestion would be to comment in this thread maybe.

I guess no sense in starting another thread, so I'll post my comments here unless the original poster suggests otherwise beforehand. And, yes, I seem to remember the DavidM pseudonym thing now.

Not actually a thread link, but a download link. That's where I downloaded it from I believe but it could have been somewhere else.

                      CTF Classic Map Pack review

Since this is a classic map pack, I'll describe the maps that I know of from the other UT games and then say how these new ones vary. All UT3 maps are by Angelus and are made from scratch using old maps as a reference.

                      BROKENLIMITS
CTFRM3-BrokenLimits (for UT by ReMoRsELeSs) >> this one is part of the ReMoRsELeSs map pack and has all the elements of a good CTF (symmetry, many paths, defendable flags, good gameplay, etc.). I also noticed the bright almost lava sky, good choice of music, gothic theme, oh look a redeemer! The weapons were placed for easy access, the shield belt is centrally located and it has sniping spots......the bots are good too.

CTF-BrokenLimits-Classic (for UT3 by Angelus) >> new textures, woohoo, completely new look with standard stormy (but slightly lit) moving sky, falling leaves, chirping birds, vines, fog, waterfalls, statues and UT3-style teleporters. It looks like the Necris stopped by for a visit also. Some paths have changed and the base symbols can be confusing at times. The jumps should be slightly higher because I'm barely making them. This version looks better but the UT version plays better.

                      COMMAND
CTF-Command (aka The Last Command for UT by Myscha) >> This seems to be a sub base without the sub or inside one with simple textures with good trim and base indicators. This is a tight map and watch out around the corners. Also, the unbalanced bases always throws me off but it's a good gameplay change for CTF every now and then.

CTF-Command-Classic (for UT3 by Angelus) >> I like the new dark textures and both bases have the layout of the original red base from UT; it's balanced now which can be both good and bad. We can now run around the outside all the way on either side, but the bots can't defend worth anything.

                      DUKU
CTF-Duku-Classic (for UT3 by Angelus) >> I never played the original but I'll comment on this one. This has new textures and the same sky as "BrokenLimits" (could be better). Doth quote the raven, nevermore. Good greens and browns but ugly a$$ dark color trim in the flag rooms/areas; actually it's in central area also, although the light blues and light reds look good. I like the slightly curved and unique layout. Is this an enforcers-only map? The bots are decent.

                      SPRINTA
CTF-Sprinta (for UT by TheSpoonDog) >> old skool UT map, bots are great (so good they have trouble defending against each other if that makes any sense), fun online, no BSP problems seen, good connectivity, simple textures with nice trim, urban theme with traffic and police car sounds, standard UT music track. Here's the Insite review:
                      http://insite.beyondunreal.com/map.php?id=6

CTF-DeepSprinta (for UT2003 by SpoonDog) >> bigger with expanded routes, nice style and music track (cool custom one), good layout (but not the same) and gameplay with plenty of weapons/items/ammo. Looks like it was changed to an underwater theme (nice fishies!). The blue team is good and my red bots can't defend at all. Here's the Insite review:
                      http://insite.beyondunreal.com/map.php?id=193

CTF-Sprinta-Classic (for UT3 by Angelus) >> looks like it's back to the urban theme (more like zombie apocalypse.......ok, I just like saying that) and standard UT music. I like the upgraded UT3 features with the fog and humming sounds. The bots are decent and actually can defend. The slight layout modifications make the map even better from a gameplay perspective.

                      TERRA
CTF-Terra (for UT by Akuma) >> this ones contains what I would call different sort of pathways with forts facing each other with an open canyon between. It has decent textures and lighting with sniper rooms (but can't snipe well up and down in these rooms). The music is standard UT variety and the bots can't defend or CTF, so what's the point (I guess online only).

CTF-Terra-LE102 (for UT by Soul-Crusher and Larathiel) >> This league edition corrected some BSPs, symmetry issues and snags; although I didn't experience any snags in original version that I can remember. I like the addition of the ambient sounds of the wind and reverb. There was a slight ammo movement and the bots defend a little better but still can't CTF.

CTF-Terra-Classic (for UT3 by Angelus) >> I like the music and added sounds and it's now snowing outside and a little smoke/fog inside for more atmosphere. I like some of the details and UT3 upgrade stuff (including teleporters). The gameplay is the same, but the bots actually can defend well and CTF.

I would recommend everyone try this map pack. Also, only the UT3 ones are in this pack. That's all folks!!!

                        DM-Grinder-RE

I got to the end of the old thread and then noticed it was closed. Yikes! OK, so maybe a PM to the author (changed name of course), but then I thought I'd just post it here. First some quick comments on the UT and UT2004 versions and then this UT3 version.

DM-Grinder (for UT) >> lots of stuff going on with lava below and space sky above, ramps, z-axis, varied lighting, good bots, good gameplay.

DM-Grinder2k4 (for UT2004) >> darker theme, strange colors, no curvy flak room that I liked in UT version, purple sky, better lava, other weapons/items changes, good gameplay.

DM-Grinder-RE (for UT3) >> no preview shot that some people like; still no curved flak room like the original but I understand this is actually remake of the UT2004 version. Two shock rifle pickups is kinda strange and I would have preferred a second flak cannon. Nice details, trim, effects and colors that somehow look better than the UT2004 version. I liked the meshes, visuals, lighting, edges, gritty appearance and brick textures. What's bloom and PP? Mine's off so no problem there. Layout works with good bots and makes for good and fun gameplay!

FYI, I released my version of DeathFan yesterday (see sig). It wasn't in UT99 per se (it was from Unreal 1) but many people played it in that since all you had to do was change the naming convention of the Unreal botmatch maps to play them in UT99.

Also, 1X, it doesn't look like you have my SpaceNoxx (also in sig) on the list. No prob if you don't want it on there. I'm probably a little biased.

Absolutely! Much respect M^vL .. - your maps have a bias toward quality if anything.

I dig that shot in the deemer area on Noxx, reminds me of the stair areas in my Football remake.

Appreciate the heads up! -1st post updated ..

I suppose I should post this, since I didn't see my remake in the list.

                                It's a remake of Orion's Barricade from UT99.
