You have no idea how much help this has been for me.

A team of us where working with UT2k4 till the school switched us to U3 mid project. It's been rocky, but with these tuts we might be able to squeak out a "finished" project.

See it's tutorials like this that would make the UDN much more useful for all those who are new to level design and UnrealED in general. People could easily spend hours trying to figure things out but these step-by-step tutorials are always a nice start and allows someone to become quickly familiarized with the general use of the tool which will definitely help them move forward from there. While working on my script I was stuggling with some things here and there but a number of these tutorials have helped me better understand how the editor will interact with my script and resource packages.

EDIT: Curious why the mods have not stickied this thread yet since when I found it via search it was starting to drop off the face of the earth. Have you submitted your links to planetunreal by chance since they may be willing to link-up with it?

the funny part is you don't really need to generate a collision around the mesh...all you gotta do to make the mesh where no one and nothing will pass thru it is to uncheck mark the 3 boxes called "UsessimplBoxCollision","SimpleLineCollision" and the "UseSimpleRigidBodyCollision"

tell me would it be possible to have a character emit electricity at set intervals sorta like well okay not what im goin for AT ALL but only way i can describe, like on Dragonball Z when they emit electricity, would this be possible to apply to a custom character? and could someone tell me what sort of things i could do, could i give a character movement motion blur, smoke, a cape from the neck sorta like japanese kamen rider (masked rider) and could i make a characters parts be on fire or made from a moving liquid, i dont want to use all these at once but would like to know if its possible...

                    Great tuts, very well explained.

I only have the PS3 version of UT3 though, so I'm guessing there's no way I can make my own maps unless I was to buy the PC version too (which I won't be doing )?

                      Help with unrealED

Great tutorials! But i think i made a stupid mistake and now unrealED won't work as it should. Now, when I add any static mesh, and want to move it around with the translation widget, the 3-arrow widget moves around, but the mesh stays in the center, unmoved. Same thing with any cube I create when the empty red cube is there when first creating a new map. Can anyone help please???

One of the buttons on the UnrealEd toolbar looks like a mouse pointer - it will be selected. That button prevents you from moving actors with the mouse, click it and it should all work fine again.
