Duplicate Login Detected! - HELP!?

I used to play UT3 problemless last year, sold my comp moved halfway across the world, bought a new comp and copy UT3 and now I cant play it!!!

I´ve been reading in the forums about this issue but want to know if there is a fix or one on the way? Some of the threads were a little old. Its not really nice when you cant play online, with such a game as UT3.
What is EPICs response? Are there any ideas? Please help...

The duplicate "login detected" is a gamespy server side bug that happens sometimes if you are constantly getting it maybe you should try creating a diferent login name and see if it still happens.
if it still happens then you might need to reinstall.

hey thanks for the reply. It seems to be more on EPIC servers than other ones...??
Have already used another login...and it happened like 3.2 mins after creating the new login...:P
Reinstall? Dont see how that will help. Has it helped for others?

How often does it happen to you ? I have it like everyone but I can generally play a bunch of game between occurences of this bug

Well, it pretty much happens on queue. every 5 mins on the ´right´ server.
But last night on a different server it didnt happen.
Surely there is a fix for this?
I had a copy of UT3 last year back in Oz and I never had any issues.

The same happens to me when I log in each time. I play around 5 to 10 mins and receive a message of duplicate login. It is unusual when there are so many pathches to set the bugs right.

Ive rarely have it, some people have it every few days while others have it all the time...
It's something that can be very hard to fix as its conditions to occur seem very wide spread.

after further testing... it seems to happen every 3.2 mins on the same servers and much less often on others. Very strange and totally cr@p?!
Thanks for letting me know its a known problem, any ideas or news of a fix, its a pretty serious problem if you ask me!

This is an incredibly frustrating problem. It happens to me constantly and usually on the "good" servers. I don't why this happens. My guess is that there are people out there who are more than happy to rip the rest of us paying gamers off by sabotaging our gaming experience. We payed good money so we could enjoy the kind of gaming experience the good people at Epic Games intended.
Instead, I sitting here not playing a game I love and wondering why I'm not looking into alternatives.
Jimmyme, this is a very serious problem, because it's not only the honest gamers that suffer, but also those at Epic Games who have invested their time and energy to bring us the game in the first place.
If this problem keeps reoccurring, gamers will stop buying the game, Epic will stop making the game and the Unreal Tournament will no longer be here for anybody.

I am most annoyed by this.

My ´gut´feeling is not that someone has ´hijacked´my account, if I can be so bold as to read into your post. Just a bug.
All I say is that EPIC... MUST fix this problem (fullstop)

this happened to me just now. I was playing on the official epic warfare server and then all of a sudden everything went really weird. i thought i was just lagging awfully but then i got a message that said duplicate login detected. i went to the main menu and tryed to join the serevr again, it was full and on the list of players in the server was my screen name A.Republican.So someone must have hijacked my account.

Those symptoms are EXACTLY what I have.
And it really seems to only happen on EPICs servers too?!?!?!? Very strange.
Anyone know how to contact EPIC or the developers through ófficial´channels???

Exact same thing happened to me too, i was on an epic VCTF server and i started lagging out, then suddenly i got disconnected and gave me a duplicate login message...
