Hard Crash (BSOD) on top of base in Face

I'd like to say that I'm really impressed with the work Epic has been doing on making UT3 a better PC game than it was when it launched. The game is a lot of fun now and even though I like my CTF matches without super-weapon mutators like Titan, playing on the official server is still a blast. Hell, I'm playing UT3 more than I am UT2k4 atm but...

I BSOD at random times when on top of a base in Facing Worlds. Doesn't matter whether I'm alone or with other players. The behavior is not consistently repeatable and sometimes I will go a whole match on Face with no crash even though I've gone to the top of both bases several times

All of my drivers are up to date and I've turned off both Hardware Open AL and Hardware Physics although neither of these settings seem to matter one way or the other.

    Here are my system specs:

    EVGA 680i SLI mobo
    C2D E6550 CPU @ 1333MHz FSB
    4GB 800MHz RAM
    2x EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB in SLI (af2)
    Creative X-Fi Fatality Elite
    320GB HDD
    Antec 9000 Series Case
    Antec 850W PSU
    WinXP Pro X64

None of my parts are OC'd but have replaced the stock CPU cooler with an ASUS Evo something or other..thus this is not a heat related problem.

Windows is up to date and so are all my drivers as well as DirectX

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Thanks.

Now that I've had a chance to play with this crash bug more...it's only in Facing Worlds and ONLY when I'm around a portal inside a base. I think it has to do with portal effects but not sure.

      Just registered to chime in.

I'm having the same problem (I think... I didn't get a BSOD, but my video card stopped output to the monitor. I'm assuming the system locked up. Beta software, wooo!). The portal I had trouble with is *specifically* the one in the center of the ground floor (not the ones on the left if you were entering the base) and only if it enters the field of view. I spent a lot of time waiting for rocket launcher ammo with my back turned to the portal and didn't have any problems.

      Specs:
      EVGA 680i motherboard
      C2D E6600 clocked to 3.0Ghz / 1333FSB
      4Gb 800Mhz RAM
      BFGTech 8800GTXOC2 (181.71 drivers)
      Creative X-Fi Fatality
      Windows 7 beta

yeah yeah, beta not supported. Whatever. Just wanted to see if there was anything I could help with.
