    Registering firewall holes

ive recently bought ut3, and want to get to play online. but im currently in university, which has a tight firewall. the uni is allowing us to open up to 10 holes in the firewall. ive tried looking on the web for which holes to open, but get varied results. along with the number of the hole i have to state if it is udp or tcp. ive tried almost everything, but i get no luck, as ut still says that there isnt a connection.

id be grateful if anyone knew a way around this, thanks

First, have you tried turning off your firewall and running as admin?

i cant turn the firewall off, as it is controlled by the university, and ive tried running as admin but it still wont. it gives a message saying it could not connect to the internet still. i just dont know whicj ports to open

Not the university fire wall, your PC firewall, the windoze firewall.

          maybe that is helpful:

i`ve got the ports 6500 and 7777 opened (both udp) and i can connect to most of the servers.

if your sys is running vista 64bit you can ignore this message. it is a known bug - but it does affect anything.
