surround sound on UT3
i want to get good surround sound without buying a sound card, i plan on having 3 cards in sli soon, and my MOBO slot positioning wont let me do this, having 3 of the same card sompletetly covers every slot, so a sound card isnt an option, so is there any other way to get optical out and get digital surround, i have the xfx 780i MOBO, it has optical on it but according to the people at xfx, its only for stereo sound which i thought was kind of weird, im using the multi channel out on the onboard sound, but it doesnt give out surround sound at all(on ut3), i have a 5.1 setup and it works on COD4 veryu well, any help would be appreciated

Have you tried switching Hardware OpenAL on in the UT3 Audio settings? -
yeah, even changed through most of the realtek settings, and all the different modes on my receiver, i walays get the same sound, i may have found an answer though, a creative usb powered soundcard, but since usb is smaller connection than pci im quetioning its ability to perform well, im still reading reveiws on it too see what it can doComment
