Patch 1.3 custom crosshair out of proportion

Has anyone noticed that their custom crosshair is out of proportion after installing patch 1.3? I have discovered that mine is stretched too far horizontally, and I cannot work out why. I have searched the troubleshooting and general forums as well as googling the problem. Here are some pictures to illustrate. Hope they are clear enough to get my point across.

    1.2 Crosshair:

    1.3 Crosshair:

I have installed patch 3 straight from patch 2. No other settings have been changed.

Does anyone have some insights as to how I can fix this?

    Cheers

Try deleting/or moving the config folder and let UT3 generate new config files. You will need to put your cdkey back in so have it handy. This will reset the games config and might fix your problem.

The config typically located My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

I have the same problem. After installing the patch 1.3 my dot crosshair transformed in a big rectangle. I tried to roll back to patch 1.2 and the crosshair was fine again. Reinstalled the game but same happened so i tried to play with the Crosshair Scalling to get my dot back, i had to set it to the minimum... still bigger than i had but it's better than nothing.

I have tried as you suggested, Grill. This does not solve the problem, unfortunately.

Same problem here, just using the standard "Simple" crosshair, it is out of proportion in 1.3.

Unforntunately, everytime i install a new UT3 Patch i have new bugs instead of fixing them.

The problem seems to be in the resolution. I tried to change my res to 1024*768 and the crosshair was fine again but if i use 1280*1024 it's stretched.

I'm having this problem with default simple crosshairs, but if I switch back to 'normal' crosshairs, it doesn't work. Running a non-standard resolution does indeed appear to be the cause, I'm running at 1680x1050.

                Started happening only after 1.3.

You're right Shombo, it appears that the crosshair is "stretched" to fit the widescreen resolution, whereas before the crosshairs would be proportioned regardless of resolution. I tested this by dropping from 1680x1050 to 1024x768, and this instantly returned the crosshair to normal.

Clearly I shouldn't have to do this when it worked before, so I'll keep looking for a workaround. If there isn't one I will be posting in the 1.4 suggestions thread.
