performance issue

I've got a pretty decent machine and this games runs like poo. No it is not my pc. I get paid to keep pc's running in tip top shape. The aim is horrible. I'm sure there have been improvements made with patches but, there's no way to verify that so I'm sad to say but, it looks like my UT days are over. Blah.

Runs great for me. By beta, do you mean beta demo? If so then don't base your opinion off it. It was before the game was released, let alone patched. The demo is not in good shape.

Question for you, what do you mean by poo? The frame rate is low? What is your fps? Does it looks bad? That's probably because you have the in game setting "screen percentage" at the default setting of 50%. Set it to 100.

Well if I was your client I'd expect a more objective description of the issues you're experiences e.g. low framerate, if you're playing online or offline, and if you're online what your ping is......

As long as your ping is <50, in general if your aim is on, you'll hit what you aim at.

But there's no quick fix for user aiming skills.

Ok, I couldn't just walk away from the game and read some posts on some other forums. I guess I'll give this thing a shot.
BTW: PC specs are AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, 4 Gig DDR2-800 (Kinsgton), Nvidia 8800GT, running Vista Ultimate. I am running all the latest drivers. I also tried a version back on the video drivers and yes I did clear out the old ones before installing new ones.

Basically I've got everything running at full as it shouldn't be an issue for this pc. After all my reading I've found out that the demo is worse than I expected. I'll get the game this week or something and try it out. Just had to reply back so you guys didn't think I was an umpa lumpa hiding out under the bridge trying to scare little children

i have the same video card and a slightly slower cpu than you, and i always have high fps

what increased performance on my pc is this:
edit the ut3 shortcut and add the -onethread parameter
maps will load slower but the fps is almost twice as high on my pc

Well if u have a 24 inch screen 5/5 details and such, thats ur problem. But also the demo is "poo"

Me, im running on a 19" screen and have max settings cept 4 wd which is 4/5. (I noticed that it uses up 80mb of vid memory just by raising the bar)

You did not list your screen res or fps. FPS is locked in the ini files, you need to edit that to get higher than 62 fps. You do have an AMD AM2 cpu, so, your setup will not run as well as most C2D systems. Does your fps get better if you reduce quality to 2-2? How about if you lower your screen res?
