My PC craves attention ?!?!?
My computer has been acting strange recently, whenever i leave it alone for 5 minutes or more it stops working. well its working when i get back but if i move the mouse it stops responding and i end up having to power it off. it doesnt do this in safe mode which almost rules out hardware issues. it shouldn't be a virus cos i have windows defender and bullgaurd. i have tried system restore to previous dates and it usually works but the next time i start it up it does the same thing. while using it thouroughly it works fine no problems. i spent 4 hours on it testing things (music, movies, games, word documents) and as long as im using it it works. at first i thought it was the hard drive turning off but i checked and made sure in power settings hdd was set to never turn off. it is a seagate ST3500830AS 500GB HDD. i defragment every couple of weeks. im stumped. can anybody help?

a very simple thing you can do is turn off your screensaver
if thats the prob you ll find out immediately. Or find the setting that windows logs you off after a while and make it keep you logged on.... these are things that are time-dependent.... it could definitely be something else though. Including a virus. No program is 100% virus prohibitive. especially windows defender :P By the way you should also mention your OS.
Did you by any chance install any new programs lately? Maybe thats what is causing it.
