    Need Help with Controller

    Last night i went out and purchased an xbox 360 controller for windows vista. It works perfectly fine for portal and battlefield. However, when i went to try it out on Unreal tournament 3 i couldn't seem to get it to work. If anyone knows if the controllers are compatible or how to set it up, all help is greatly appreciated.

    First, make sure you are updated to 1.2. Plug in your controller, then start up UT3. The game won't recognize the controller if you plug it in while it's running. Go into your options, under 'Input', check/enable the 'Enable Joystick' option.

    Your movement controls will most likely be backwards, to fix it do the following.

    Go to your 'MyDocs/MyGames/UT3/UTGame/Config' folder and open up your UTInput.ini file. Look for this line under [Engine.PlayerInput], the first section.

    Bindings=(Name="GBA_MoveForward_Gamepad",Command=" Axis aBaseY Speed=1.0 DeadZone=0.3")

    Change the speed to a negative number by adding '-'. Should look like this when your done.

    Bindings=(Name="GBA_MoveForward_Gamepad",Command=" Axis aBaseY Speed=-1.0 DeadZone=0.3")

    That will flip your movement so that forwards is forwards and backwards is backwards. If your view/look is backwards, check/uncheck the 'Invert Y' box in your settings under the input tap.

      I use the 360 controller with UT3 and it works great.
      Use this software with it (it's free).

        Ill go a step further.

        Here's Xpadder= http://www.mediafire.com/?1mlem54mobq
        Here's the button layout file= http://www.mediafire.com/?v1xmmtdjd1l
        Here's the control profile file= http://www.mediafire.com/?gfgwccy44m9

        Download all these files to a new directory. Then open Xpadder. Then you will see 2 empty white boxes. One with a controller icon next to it, and one with a page icon next to it. Click the controller icon and choose open, then go to the directory where you downloaded the 3 files and open the file that shows up. Then click the page icon and do the same. DONE! Oh yeah, you will have to disable the controller from inside ut3, and set your sensitivity ingame to 6000+

        PS. Xpadder will work by simulating kb/m using the controller, so it works outside of the game, and will work for any game that does not have controller support. I actually use my controller to surf the net, and also as a remote for WMP, RealPlayer, etc...
