Weapons won't switch correctly

In the xbox 360 version of Gears of war, the guns do not switch correctly. When I try to switch to the shotgun, it sometimes switches to the lancer at random and vice versa for each weapon. I tried various tests with it, and it's still doing this. Does anyone have a solution for this?
