    enter serial...again?

    so i started up UT3 a few seconds ago and i had to re enter me serial-key..
    i played last night and changed nothing.


    whats up with that?

      could be. but how could that happen?
      with something like Ccleaner or Regseeker?

        Your ini, not your registry. The serial is encoded in utgame.ini so if something happens to that file, then it will ask you to enter it again to restore it.

        The game might have terminated in an abnormal manner.

          Not the UTGame.ini... the UTEngine.ini.

            It can happen if your networking cards change at all; it picks one and uses it to hash the key. I've had to re-enter my key like 10 times due to it picking a different networking interface to use to hash the key. >_>;;

              This is one of the annoying bugs still existed. I thought they fixed in patch 1.2. Turning on and off your NIC will prompt you for your cd-key. I have to do the same thing. Soon or later you will experience this error too: http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=609709

                    it happens if the game cannot access the internet during its start up. It also happens if the game cannot create its game data in your user directory (usually happens to people whos user directory is not on the system/os volume).
