Possible PS3 glitch/bug?

When I loaded up UT3 and went into multiplayer it said I wasn't signed into PSN even though I was then after the message I couldn't go back because the options weren't there. All I could do was cycle through the "quick match", "join game" or "host game". Any ideas why this is and could it be because of the maps I downloaded for it?

Ut3 is like a little princess, you have to wait a minute or so before launching the game else it wont recognize your psn connection and you'll have to quit/restart it.

It's more likely the servers were down when this happened. When the servers are down, you get stuck in the multi-player thing and lose the ability to return to the main menu and are forced to quit the game.
