    I want to make a computer =P

Can anyone help me out here, I have a PS3 right now and a Sh*t computer, but the thing is i see how some people are saying that a high end computer is wayy better than a PS3. THats why i want both. So could someone help me with finding a way to build a computer that is around $300-$400?

Just start naming parts i Need and the prices and what you think would be the best for playing high end games on like UT3. Thanks in advance i appreciate it.

Edit: Your also probably wondering why I don't just look this up by myself, the reason is because I would rather hear from people with experience than just take a shot in the dark by myself, thanks

I've built a total of 3 computers and bought all my parts from www.newegg.com
Great customer service. I had to replace some RAM and it took less than a week to get the new ram.

Anyways get a mobo (Make sure you know what size will fit your case, MicroATX or just regular ATX) You'll probably want to go AMD since it's cheaper and IMO better than Intel. But that's just me. So go with a Socket AM2 and a 6400+ processor with both a mobo and this cpu you're probably looking at $200. You could get a slower CPU and save money but that's up to you. Next add some RAM. Check what's compatable with your new mobo. Most common is DDR2 800. Get 2 gigs of ram or more. Next is your GPU get anything around $200-$250 and you'll be fine. Add a soundcard if you want but onboard is OK.
Hope this helps. If you have any questions just ask

I would not say amd is better than intel imo.
Amd is a lot cheaper though.

intel is better, but amd is cheaper, almost making it better. go with a 5000+ Black Edition for OCing, 6400+ for not OCing.

You'll be able to make a computer that is $400, but it's not going to play UT3 better than a PS3. That price range can be anywhere from 800-2000 including a decent sized monitor that can compare to a LCD tv screen.

I agree. I'd guess $800-$1000 might do it for better performance.

But even a $400 computer will beat up the PS3 in one area--games speed!
