Video Settings Keep Going Back To Default

i have a REALLY powerfull computer , can play crysis on the highest , and so i put dx10 on and everything it asks me to restart for the changes to take effect so i do that , when i go onto it everythign has gone back to nthe default WHAT DO I DO TO SOLVE THIS!

If you're using vista try running the game with administrator mode enabled. Hmm.

yes i am on vista and i have tryed that and still doesant work , i have had this game for ages and i want to play it in full graphics just please find me a solution, anyone
