Is a program that uses 95% a problem? Not really, unless you have cooling issues .

Only 95%. Thats weird. The game should use 100%. Do you have Vsync enabled? Turn SLI off. UT3 does not run well with SLI now.

Your RAM maybe is slow. (wrong clockrates, high latencys), so your CPU cannot transfer the data fast enough. Then, effectivity is affected badly.

Games should use as much CPU ressources as they can. Its wrong to believe 100% CPU usage is bad.

Hmmz, oke but sometimes i get peaks to 100% and then it hangs/lags
I just wanted to know if all ppl with a averag system use that hight cpu usage .

If it hangs with 100% load then your overclock is obviously unstable.
To make sure an overclock is stable, I usually run a program such as Orthos for 12+ hours.

            my specs

i've got serious problems. i start ut3, runs for 20 secs on a map, crashes back to a desktop. no error message, nothing.

            my specs are:

            MS windows xp sp2
Intel Pentium D core 2 duo 2.8ghz apiece
            1.0gb RAM (533mhz i think)
            Ati radeon x1650 pro GPU

            this should run it, right?

(btw, UT2004 runs fine, no probs at all)

            cheers

Total processor usage never goes beyond ~75 %. Remember that with a Q6600 that means 25 % equals one core à 3,2 GHz.

I had the same problem, and the C++ drivers and .net framework don't help. It doesn't make any logical sense why they would, for me the answer was to turn the texture detail down.
