Unreal Tournament III perform worse in Vista than XP!!

Well, my setup is the following:
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ oc to 5400+ 2.81GHZ
ATI Radeon X1950PRO 667\1540 with CCC 8.1\XG 7.12 both of XP and Vista.
    Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 F6A bios.
    Corsair+Kingston 2GB Dual Chanel 667MHZ CL5.0
    WDC 80GB SataII 7200RPM

First of all, my knowledge at PC software and hardware is high yet couldn't find why UTIII works worse on Vista as if it were a problem of my hardware which is not.
I know that Vista gaming performance are less than XP, however after this year including Vista updates, great drivers from ATI, still Unreal Tournament III performs worse in Vista than XP, it has lower fps, stutters and hitches and the mouse is terribly lag making the game hard to play, moreover the time that takes UTIII to install in Vista is twice than XP, and all other games works good under Vista.
Has anyone encountered that and have a solution?

I use XP, so I don't have a solution, but I'm reading this article which explains a lot.

I'll try it but what it does? it doesn't set the world detail or texture detail parameter to 0?

Gaming performance is ALWAYS worse in Vista than it is in XP.

Mainly due to immature drivers, amongst other things...

I had the same problems on some of my games, then I got 4GB of ram. Haven't any performance loss compared to XP on anything since. Vista by default eats up a lot more ram than XP but supports more in the long run.

That doesn't necessarily mean that it will fix it for everyone but that's a solution in some cases, mainly it's with newer games when they're being run with higher settings, since by default Vista uses anywhere from 800-1.2GB of ram leaving only around 1GB left for the game itself. Games with similar results include Crysis, Hellgate London, BioShock, Quake 4, Company of Heroes etc.

Vista only eats 250 (32Bit) to 500Mbyte (64Bit) more RAM, so 2Gig is enough to play the game.

Yep there is a massive difference between the two.Could be drivers but i dout it its more likely to be the diffence in the way they handle files.I uninstalled vista in the end because the differnce was about 40 fps.
