    [Solved]Game Freezes and Crashes.Nvidia Cards.

For those who have a 8800 GT, i found something which might help you all:

The card fan default speed is set at 29%, which is far too low.I discovered this using Gpu Caps Viewer: i ran it, and my comp crashed when Gpu core temp reached 85°C.
It seems the drivers don't adjust fan speed correctly.

I then found a thread explaining how to adjust fan speed using Riva Tuner.
Fan speed will increase when GPU temp reaches a pre-determined temp.

Everything is here:It is in french, but it should not be too hard for you to understand, as there are pics too.

You can skip it and set a speed manually, but this method is useful, as it reduces fan noise when Gpu is idle.

Have fun, and i hope this will help you.

And sorry for my bad english ^^

Of course, other nvidia owners may test it too.

Now my game runs perfectly and i did not experienced crashes so far.

Btw, anyone knows how to report this to nvidia developpers? This could be useful, as they might fix their future drivers so the fan speed would adjust correctly when core temp is too high.

On XP there's no problem like this. On Vista, there is.

I'm on XP, and my game was crashing.

I adjusted my fan speed, and everything is ok now.
