Your current processor is fine for maxing out UT3, but if you seriously want to upgrade, there is no noticeable difference in performance between the dual core and quad core currently, as not many games utilize more than 2 cores. But the quad core will supposedly make a difference in the future when the other 2 cores are really utilized.
why would you get the e6700 when the e6850 is 3.0 GHz and $40 cheaper than the e6700 at newegg?
also +1 for dual core over quad cores....the performance gain is nothing special, and 90% of programs don't utilize the extra cores. Additionally, the dual cores overclock much better than the quad cores.
