Game resetting every time opened

I just installed on XP home SP2 and every time I open the .exe, the game resets to default settings; video, audio, even the campaign mode. I've tried reinstalling but there is still the problem. It also asks for the CD key every time I open it...I noticed there was another post on this, but they did not mention anything else being reset, so I posted again.

Anyone know of any possible fixes/solutions?

Had the same problem, except for the CD-key deal... I installed the new patch and started the campaign as a public game as opposed to private (so it was one or the other), and my campaign data was not erased (whoo hoo!). Didn't check key binding. If you havn't already, I'd say install the latest patch.
