Portals=Lag

I just wanted to create a independent thread for anyone experiencing lag or hitching when standing close to the small portals on most maps...

My Specs.
Core Duo Extreme 2.9 ghz
Nvidia 8800GTS SLI 640MB
Ageia Phys X
4g RAM

The small portal lag is the only issue I'm having with an otherwise fantastic game.

I dont have any lag whatsoever around there. Infact it's a better FPS place than anywhere.

Try Ultron's UT3 tweaks.

Intel C2D E6400
6600GTOC (everything lowest + tweaked for no fogvolumes and stuff)
2GB Ballistix RAM.

I get a lot of stutter, though I solved it a bit here in this thread: good fps but stutter

i only get lag around the portals if i disable Vsnyc and uncap my frame rates, but with both on it's smooth.
