UT3 instability after playing UT2K4

I've got a Dell Precision 670 running Windows XP, with 4GB of main memory, dual 3.6Ghz hyper-threaded Xeons, and a new e-GeForce 8800 Ultra, and the latest driver (169.09). I was having crashes and hangs until I turned off threaded optimization in the NVIDIA control panel. Now the only time I have crashes is if I play UT2K4, then try to play UT3. If I want to play UT3 after UT2K4 I have to reboot. UT3 is great, but I'm not very impressed with it's reliability!

The 2k4 / ut3 sounds more like the driver gets weird.
