Crashes and sound trouble

I had same problem. Suggest you either:
1. update your sound card/mothercard driver

If that doesn't work or driver is already current, suggest you:
2. uninstall sound card/mothercard driver, reboot, reinstall sound driver

So i bought special edition of the game yesterday and installed. The first time i tried to play it, it crashed. The second time, the game seemed to run fine until i loaded the single player campaign, and the cutscene had no sound. I then reinstalled the game to find the same errors. however, it did say a certain file was out-of-date after the installation, i clicked 'yes to all' on the pop-up, and the game crashed. if i had to geuss...i'd say it was this file being out-of-date, how do i update it? or could it be something else?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the second time i installed it, I got through the first mission, and when it tried to load the second mission, it crashed again.
