Starting game without Cd

My game runs relatively well, few crashes and whatnot. But if i try to start the game without the CD, out of forgetfullness, the game crashes, and then even after i put the cd in, the game either crashes or hardlocks my computer. The only way to fix it is to completely uninstall and reinstall the game.

My PC: Nforce 680i SLI mobo, eVGA 8800GT, 4GB Dual channel RAM (shows at 2.75GB because im running XP 32Bit) 500GB Seagate Barracuda SATA 3Gbps, 160GB Seagate Barracuda ATA133.

You missed out your processor speed.

Dude...you got 4gig dual channel on XP 32 bit? Wow you have wasted your money there mate, xp 32 (should be) 3 or 3.5, dunno why its so low on yours. Anywho...i doubt that would be the problem...but to make sure you should run some memory tests to make sure you aint got no errors.

And you dont need the disc to play it at all, w/ or w/o the disc will not affect performance to the degree your describing.

But 1st tell us your processor speed.
