cant hear other mics...

so im using a Logitech Premium USB Headset 350, people can hear me just fine. thing is i cant hear any one talking back. im only using the head set as a mic and the sound out is running through my 5.1. when i play TF2 or use ventrilo, the voice of other players just mix's through the speakers. anyone got any ideas on a solution?
