    When I used a Pentium 4 , it didn't crash ingame,

    while now i have this core2duo with ati = freeze

      ATI cards do not cause lockups, I have an X1950 Pro 512mb and a core2duo and have no problems at all. Any lockups will be caused by something else in your system.

        Thank you Andeh for finally shining a light on the issue. Posters have discussed the problem for 49 pages, and yet it only takes you 1 line to clear it up.
        If you really want your post to be useful at all, at least post your complete config.

                Ditto on the config testing. Check the link in my sig.
                Would like to know if my config tweaks work well for Deck on x1900's.
                If you miss your bumpmaps, then simply change:
                DirectionalLightmaps=True

                        If the freezes were ATI related, I would of experienced them on my system when I had my X1900XT 512MB installed and so would my friend who runs an X1900XT 512MB on his Intel based motherboard system.

                              hate to break it to you, but i upgraded from an x1950pro 512 to a 3870, and i still get the freezes, albeit less frequently.

                                I think I should point out again that freezes are not caused by ATI cards. They will be cause by something else in your system. Possibly a certin hardware setup. But ATI cards themselves are not causing crashes.
