    Entering CD Key in Ini

    What Ini has the key, and what line do I have to enter it on?
    can someone help, I need this fixxed so I can play.

    I found it in the UTengine.ini however it was encrypted. Sorry.
    I hope it's not the fact that there is a keygen out there that is causing this. I'm not sure if that's how they work, though.

      Well its not the fact that its saying its being used as it wont even let me input it into the game when it asks me it keeps saying its invalid and Midway says it should work.

          It was under something about gamespy.
          I just used Edit>Find and put in key and clicked find once or twice and it came upon it. It's about 20 numbers long.

                Keep in mind this entry in the UTEngine.ini:

                [OnlineSubsystemGameSpy.OnlineSubsystemGameSpy]
                EncryptedProductKey=

                Probably has nothing to do with the initial CD entry issue, where your CD-key shows as invalid. I believe it has to do with online authentication when you connect to the server browser.

                In your DefaultEngine.ini that line will say

                [OnlineSubsystemGameSpy.OnlineSubsystemGameSpy]
                EncryptedProductKey=NotForShip

                because it's not set up yet. When the UTEngine.ini is created it ends up being updated with what the game hashes out as your online authentication key. I am not sure it's your serial number displayed in an algorithm, or if it's something else.

                Anyhow, if you can't connect to servers online, that might be the issue. If you can't enter any sort of CD key into the game as being valid - this has nothing to do with that.

                    If someone figures out how to enter the key in the ini file please post, I'm willing to try anything at this point and Epic isn't helping. I wonder if there are any cracks out that bypass the CD key? It sucks to have to do that for a game I paid for, but if Epic isn't fixing it I'm gonna do whatever it takes to play the game.
