  • Campaign crashes

Whenever I start the campaign, it freezes during the first 5 secs of the game, but not always in the same spot, and loops the last sound that was played.

    PC specs:

    Xp Prof. SP2
    2 Gb RAM
    AMD 4800
Gf 7600 Gt(I know not that good)

With exception to the graphics card, everything else should handle the game well. I meet the minimum req. for the game. I don't know if this is a bug or performance issue. I hope they patch this quickly.

I'm experiencing the same issue. It freezes at random but almost always before the first 10sec. After that it does not resume (waited a couple minutes) and has to be closed down with alt-tab. Another thing is that it does NOT play ANY audio on the opening cutscene of the campaign when it starts. All my ingame and menu audio is working fine though and I have a ton of codecs...

Something to note is that the first time I alt-tabbed it, and then clicked on it, it returned and HAD cutscene audio for around 2 sec then it stopped and froze again. This is weird because it means it is playing the audio but somehow mutes it? idk..

    System:
    Windows XP SP2
    Celeron D @3.095Ghz
    512DDR Ram @ 384Mhz
    Geforce 6600 256mb @ 425Mhz core/640Mhz Ram, Using Nvidia 169.09 drivers
    AC'97 Audio
    Via P4M800 motherboard
    Seagate 80GB 7200rpm HDD.

I'm aware my system is not perfect and I'm getting something newer very soon but dm and tdm run just fine with 20-30fps (800x600 tex:3, world:1, vivid) and Warfare/VCTF with 10-25fps. I'm not having any issues in any of them.

Somebody posted a similar problem on our forums. I tried it and it worked fine.

Yes, found the solution after some searching.
Here it is if anyone needs it.

        Open the UTEngine.ini (My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config) and change PumpWindowMessagesWhenRenderThreadStalled=False to PumpWindowMessagesWhenRenderThreadStalled=True

Worked flawlessly for me after having the SAME issue. Found it here:
