ut3.exe has encountered an error

I just purchased this game last night from Best Buy and have been experiencing crash issues as well. The game installed just fine. The game loads just fine. I was able to adjust my settings just fine. The game would even play fine for about 10-20 mins at this point however the game would randomly halt and I would be greeted with a black screen stating the ut3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to be closed. This is very annoying and has happened 4 times in the past 16 hours on me. I have the system in sig which is no slouch. I also have the latest video, sound, chipset and Ageia drivers installed. The Bios on my motherboard and video card are also fully up to date. So far I have been able to prolong the crash by not checking off OpenAL in the audio portion of the games menu. I would rather have this enabled however. I hope a fix can be found to this issue as my system ran prime95 blend for 14h straight yesterday without a single core failure. I am also running ATItool artifact tester now for over 1.5h without an issue so I would say my system is stable and something is up with this game. The only other problem I have been having is sometimes upon starting up the game it will not log in. It halt at 'logging in' and won't continue unless I force the game closed and restart it at which point it will log in almost immediately. Anyone else having this login problem?

Hi erm i bought this game 2 days ago, trying to install the game but errors always pops up. The first time ive installed this game an error poped up saying that something like data1.cab been corrupted. Found out that i needed to turn off my firewall. Reinstalled the game then Data2.cab been corrupted. Had to copy and paste the game into my hard drive. Now tried to install it again Data3.cab corrupted. Dunno what to do for this one is there any solution for this? my laptop has the game requirements so i don't think thats the problem

once upon a time I was using ued I accidently saved over a ut3 package then I got the error then it closed. re installed the game. pop error again. re-installed again wammmm error again, after each patch kaboooom errorrrr. Yes I am usiong ati 7.11 drivers but that cannot be the case because I also have 7.11 on vista and the ued works fine on vista.

ATI x2900 pro
CCC 7.11 Drivers
1 GB RAM
Pentium 4: 3.0ghz
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

I really hope Epic is working on a fix and not leaving us here to rot.

If anyone is still having this problem i've managed to solve it (for myself at least) after more than a year of suffering! I am running a dual core AMD and a 9600GSO graphic card. The solution was to install the AMD cpu driver and the AMD dual core optimizer. Can be found at the AMD website. Small files. Good luck!! Finally i can run the game without having to reinstall and reset registry everytime! ... Hopefully this can help at least some of you who have the problem.
