      You are a moron for posting such an ignorant comment. His computer is fine for running a next generation game like UT3. Look at benchmarks before you post your useless opinions.

        ur a lamer? this configuration is absolutely sufficient for UT3,

        maybe your mom and dad buy you last super computer, but this is not reasson for offencing other ppls who not have rich parents who buy him any better comp.
        i "like" this kids who never in life profit any money from hard work, and know only driveling on forums this bull****s.

        "well to start of, I lolled a bit, possible solution for your problem might be:

        Go to -> UTengine.ini , scroll down and put ";" everywhere in front of where it says something like movie... then it skips all movies and in between stuff."

        yes this is possible fix, but.. im buy this GAME not a part of game, i pay money for this not for sprig game properties, better be if epic release any patch againist this crashes, im not a one ppl here who have this problem and is totally incredibly that this company not work on any repair, why i im my ownership must tie functions because creators create any fcking bug in code?
        this is not my problem.. i pay this game in assume be a full and working, i giving to this company money for FUNCTIONAL product, and i believe to release any fix as soon as one can.
        sorry this is some.... example:
        i buy car.. and im must disuse windshield wiper because manufacturer take mistake in any system for rotate axis..
        this is little strangely, no?

          sad to say, yes, its not awsome.

          a pc that will run nex-gen games WELL runs @ least 2 gis ram, and if you want to get anywhere with graphics, id suggest at least an 8 series nvidia.

          btw, i know what im talking about since im running a 7600gt myself, and a processer better than yours, and i STILL get terrible gameplay. so im upgrading to an 8800 in a week.

                  Don't listen to anyone telling you that your computer can't run it, they just want to feel envied with their unnecessarily expensive rigs.

                      To the OP: As you say, your system is sufficient to play the game. But you probably have a system problem that either prevents the correct install of the game or a driver issue that prevents it from running well. Here's my advice to you.

                      Edit the UTEngine.ini file. Edit the following options like so:

                      [Engine.GameEngine]
                      bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE
                      MinSmoothedFrameRate=0
                      MaxSmoothedFrameRate=0

                      This ensures smooth framerates regardless of your resolution. This also works with the UseVsync line below to prevent screen-tearing, something that can significantly reduce accuracy in gameplay. If you want to disable Vsync for any reason I recommend you set the bSmoothFrameRate option to FALSE instead. But if you are using a LCD it will most likely have a refresh rate of 60Hz anyways, so it's not really neccessary to do that in that case.

                      [Engine.Client]
                      MinDesiredFrameRate=60.000000

                      This ensures that dynamic lighting, decals, and possibly other visuals are not used if your framerates drop below a certain speed. In this case, 60FPS. If you choose at a later time to enable such graphical tricks, I recommend you set this to 0.000000 in order to guarantee that you see them at all framerate levels.

                      [SystemSettings]
                      StaticDecals=False
                      DynamicDecals=False
                      DynamicLights=False
                      DynamicShadows=False
                      LightEnvironmentShadows=False
                      CompositeDynamicLights=True
                      DirectionalLightmaps=False
                      MotionBlur=False
                      DepthOfField=False
                      Bloom=False
                      QualityBloom=False
                      Distortion=False
                      DropParticleDistortion=True
                      SpeedTreeLeaves=False
                      SpeedTreeFronds=False
                      OnlyStreamInTextures=False
                      LensFlares=False
                      FogVolumes=False
                      FloatingPointRenderTargets=True
                      Trilinear=False
                      OneFrameThreadLag=False
                      UseVsync=True
                      UpscaleScreenPercentage=True
                      Fullscreen=True
                      AllowD3D10=True
                      EnableHighPolyChars=False
                      SkeletalMeshLODBias=0
                      ParticleLODBias=0
                      DetailMode=0
                      ShadowFilterQualityBias=1
                      MaxAnisotropy=0
                      MaxMultisamples=1
                      MinShadowResolution=32
                      MaxShadowResolution=512
                      ResX=1280
                      ResY=1024
                      ScreenPercentage=100.000000

                      These settings pretty much strip all the high quality visual effects from the game, but it should be much clearer. The only graphical tweak I leave in there is the FloatingPointRenderTargets line, which is set to True. And that is because it allows you to see the Sniper Rifle tracer, and the smoke effects from behind the Flak ball, making it appear more like the Flak ball, instead of a glowing orange.

                      [FullScreenMovie]
                      ;StartupMovies=Copyright_PC
                      ;StartupMovies=EpicLogo
                      ;StartupMovies=MidwayLogo
                      ;StartupMovies=UE3_logo
                      ;StartupMovies=Nvidia_PC
                      ;StartupMovies=Intel_Duo_Logo
                      ;StartupMovies=UT_loadmovie1

                      This last section eliminates the startup movies from the game. This eliminates about 10 seconds of movies that play in the beginning.

                      ---

                      In the UTGame.ini

                      [UTGame.UTPlayerController]
                      bCenteredWeaponFire=True

                      The game default is to slightly offset where you aim, compared to where the crosshairs of your HUD are, to either the left or to the right of it, depending on what hand you use. If you set WeaponHandPreference to HAND_Right then you will aim to the right of the crosshair, for example. So I set the bCenteredWeaponFire to True to fire at the center of your crosshair by default, regardless of which hand you choose, or if you use Hidden.

                      The rest you can largely change in-game. But this should resolve any technical issues you have with the game, and prevent crashing.

                      This also has the benefit of doubling your framerates. I have a similar system, an AMD 64 3000+, X1800GTO, 2GB RAM and I went from 22FPS in some places to 49FPS in the same places, in areas of medium levels of world geometry and objects.

                      Doing these fixes will also serve the purpose of troubleshooting whether or not you have a driver issue, or perhaps some other issue with the game.

                        A 7600gt is enough for medium settings at an average resolution.

                        Unfortunately for me, I can't run it at an "average" resolution because my LCD screen on my iMac is rather large (24")... I wish I could upgrade my computer, but it just isn't going to happen (iMacs don't get upgraded, ever). What's worse is that I can't get a new computer due to my being 8 months below the legal working age enforced at 99% of the jobs in my town. The only available job is, unsurprisingly, the worst: sign flipping (ugh, god). At least your folks aren't the kind that won't let you even use what little money you actually possess...

                        Anyway, now that my doom and gloom speech is over, I restate my point: upgrade if you can. If you can't, just wait for a patch. If you still can't, just sell the game on ebay.

                          I have a 7600gt and an athlon 3800 but the demo runs perfect on full quality.

                          And so does other next gen games.

                            really? highest resolution as well? if so...

                            WHY DID I GET VISTA?

                            mine wont even run it maxed on 800x600. probably vista hogging it.

                              i hate threads like this. ITS A PC GAME! it runs differently on every setup! UT3 runs perfectly on my cousins computer (2.4 ghz single core, 1.5 gb ram, old allinwonder gpu) but bioshock is glitchy and crashes alot. every pc setup is different. maybe you had outdated drivers, did some improper tweaking, had an unsupported graphics card or the wrong service pack. Maybe a wrong version of directx. it could be anything! i know some of those things u checked, but ppl like you are SO annoying! You obviously have no computer experience. they wouldnt release an unstable game that crashes on most systems! uggh, ur like that guy who complained the graphics wer bad and it lagged too much! the problem is ur computer! not the game.

                                i dont come to this forum to be flamed at. i just needed verification.

                                no, i am not "like that guy who...", i was simply asking. i suggest you calm down, or go any forther and 10 bets you'll have an admin on your tail.

                                oh yer, and just for the record: no computer experience my *****. Why? i BUILD PCs from scratch! i write my own programs, and i am also an active modder.

                                so watch where you point fingers.
