    Installing Server Maps (Question!!)

    G'day to all.

    As the thread title suggests, I would like to know the correct path to install UT3 maps to on a Dedicated UT3 Version, Is it the same as the client
    Code:
    C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\published\CookedPC\CustomMaps
    would be the same on the server right? - and a relating question, Does all the .ini files need to be with it or do they get put into a /scripts/ directory.

    And maybe if you've come this far, would anyone know how to change the bot skill within the string?, maybe like
    Code:
    ?difficulty=<Level>
    Would be much appreciated,
    cheers.

    The answer is in that article, a little bit scrolling down, see image.

    I don't know about difficulty level though.

      cheers for the reply.

      I have followed through with what it says, but still, when I go into the server then Vote, the maps still don't appear in the list.

      The image above is taken directly from the server box itself, this is what I currently have, but still doesn't show in the Vote List.
      something I might be doing wrong?

        You have to drag them into a maplist for them to become votable i think...

        Use the webadmin interface to do that.

          ok, That seems to work, I will need to spend a little time making a good rotation

          My next question, if I may.... is, My server is on high-speed Internet (100+ MBPS, as it is professionally hosted), however, clients downloading seems very slow even though their connection is ~20 MBPS
          so, is there away to allow UT3 to utilize more of the bandwidth, or get clients to download via an FTP through the game (Urban Terror has that function).

          Cheers.

            Get an account on http://www.free-redirect.com
            Then you can upload your redirect content for the game on the FTP and use the URL in UTEngine.ini to redirect player downloads which results in ALOT faster downloads...

              May I ask where abouts in UTGame.ini the FTP Information should go, I ask this as I have gone through it but don't see anything based around "FTPAccess=Username", or anything like that.

              Also, if the free redirect FTP doesn't have a particular map, is there a place I could suggest it to be added to the service?.

              Cheers!

              EDIT

              I came across this: http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/...ase-Start-Here
              But it's a redirect tutorial (towards the bottom), it shows

              Code:
              [IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
              RedirectToURL=http://YourDomain.com/PathToRedirectFolder/
              UseCompression=False
              ProxyServerPort=
              ProxyServerHost=
              which is HTML redirect, not FTP. So, I guess I'm looking for something similar, for FTP

                I think you misunderstand..
                As far as i know there is no FTP redirects..
                What the common procedure is is that you get an FTP LOGIN to upload your files, then the URL to that repository is used in UTEngine.ini

                For example:

                http://i7.free-redirect.com/redirect/ut3/

                  ok, I follow now. The FTP is so I can upload files to it, and the URL is used in the UTGame.ini as the redirect.
                  my question is now, where do I put the URL in the UTGame.ini, I came across this (another redirect service) - http://news.ut-files.com/redirect/

                  With:
                  Code:
                  [IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
                  RedirectToURL=http://uz3.ut-files.com/
                  UseCompression=True

                  [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver]
                  AllowDownloads=True
                  ConnectionTimeout=60.0
                  InitialConnectTimeout=60.0
                  AckTimeout=1.0
                  KeepAliveTime=0.2
                  MaxClientRate=15000
                  MaxInternetClientRate=10000
                  RelevantTimeout=5.0
                  SpawnPrioritySeconds=1.0
                  ServerTravelPause=4.0
                  NetServerMaxTickRate=30
                  LanServerMaxTickRate=35
                  IdleServerTickRate=30
                  DownloadManagers=IpDrv.HTTPDownload
                  DownloadManagers=Engine.ChannelDownload
                  NetConnectionClassName=IpDrv.TcpipConnection
                  I changed the top URL to the i7 address, however, the server still downloaded very slow, so I think it's still using default and not the redirect service.

                  Cheers,
                  Wishful Thinking!

                      EDITED

                      Yes, I was misreading, my bad

                      It does work now, I can tell as it moves faster than it would downloading via the game,
                      Is there away to allow it to have more bandwidth though (the redirect), maybe the Maxrates and other of thos settings, or do they have nothing to do with that?

                      EDITED (Second Time)

                      Yes it is the second time I edited this, I thought I might let you know that I did some reading on one of your posts, like this one http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/...eal-Tournament and read that the server was hosted in Amsterdam, of which is a very long way from Australia (where Iam), so I did a test with the other free redirect site http://news.ut-files.com/ and it went as fast as 600KB/sec opposed to 50-70KB/sec from the Amsterdam server.

                      And downloaded maps through UT3 (using redirect) very fast.
                      I do thank you for your help, you have been very helpful.... who knows, you might be able to answer other questions (

                      Cheers,
