This was coded in Windows 7 64bit but will work for XP Vista and Win 7 both 32 and 64bit
And its the fastest UT3 compressor i've ever had to work with.
Its compressing multiple UT3 files in one process instead of one at the time.

    Enjoy

I think the asker is talking about tiny UT3 Vice utility (http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=611894)?

There is three way to solve this problem when talking 64-bit Win7 OS:

    1) UT3 Vice is installed to defaulf Program Files folder. It is specially folder and have specially access rights etc. Wrong writed and old program try to write .ini etc. settings there. To solve this try install UT3 Vice to \Games\UT3\Utility\UT3 Vice folder or similar

    2) Again, old programs and coded to use too heavy user rights. Give admin rights by right clicking the icon and run it as admin... This can write to shortcut, too, but it ask admin password everytime when running

    3) UT3 Vice could be 16-bit program and do not run on Win7 64-bit version. If you have Ultimate or Professional version, install virtual XP and run this UT3 Vize utility from there

Sorry bout' that. I understand you are looking for a tool to do this but the following is another option.

    Try this:
create a directory called compress in the root
    directory... C:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3 (Dedicated)\compress

then dump any and all file that need compressing in the directory ie
levels, mods etc into this folder.

Then run a simple batch file to compress everything in one shot...
    BATCH FILE >>>

    c:

    cd \Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3 (Dedicated)\Binaries

    ut3.exe compress ..\compress\*.*

A folder called compression is created in the My Games UT3 folder where
    all compressed files are placed.

    Upload and done.
    GL!

I have been using the {UNK} Cache Extractor with win7 64bit successfully.
    Might give it a shot

    {UNK} Cache Extractor V1.1
    Author: {UNK} Reaper
    Download: http://www.sayunkle.com/unktalk/downloads.php?cat=1
    Alt Download: http://unkclan.com/downloads.htm
    Alt DL #2 : http://www.fileplayground.com/3ahtcs...round.zip.html
    Description/Read Me:

    UTCacheExtractor.exe

This utility reads the UT3 Cache, determines what files are maps, appropriately renames them and moves them to you designated Custom Maps folder.

For the Cache and Custom Maps folders be sure to browse all the way to the desired folder!!!

Currently supports War, DM, CTF, VCTF Maps

Will create a zip backup in the cache folder, if enabled. Will delete old zip backups found

    Register to download.

    Compress/decompress in Win7x64

well the tool I used in WinXP doesn't work in Win7X64

it was the one that edited the reg and made compression decompression a breeze.

does any one have a work around for it without resorted to using XP or the XP 'thingy' in Win7
Working...
