UT3 Linux dedicated / update for patch 3?

    Big thanks to all of you!

    Installation works perfectly, linux patch 5 installed and running.

    But the server only runs without "Aborting" when i start it without a username and passwort but then i won't see it online and i only can "direct connect". Well the direct connection works through the game but it also tells me that a server with ip/port i entered could not be found, with OK and direct connect it works perfectly.

    I don't want to bother you all more then i already did but that user and password problem is really an issue i can't solve by myself. I just created in game 4 accounts and non of them works for the server. The start log is just the same as the "normal" - i mean the one i started the server without user and password, looks just fine but at the end is this

        Your startup line is wrong, bad syntax, no wonder it does not work.

        Here is an example of a working command line;

          Thanks for your startup line. I guess it is now correct but the server is even with your new startup shutting down right after he finishes the whole loading prozess. But only if i add the user and password params. I really did try anything and i also created multible ac****s and ways to enter them - inside quotes - anything - nothing works so far and i have no idea why. Without it works perfectly and i can join by iport and play.

          Come on i mean it can't be so hard to just add username and password in a working way in a command line option - am i really that stupid? Don't post yes

          Still no idea why the server is shutting down after the whole loading is finished. Here is my lunch.log maybe some one can help me out - again?

            I use the -unattended & and it stays running. And I have that at the end of my string. Hope that helps.....

              Hi Just wanted to ask as my provider is going to patch the servers... After installing the patch should i install the titan pack to get the gametypes and maps and other stuff?

              Or is it done only by installing the patch?

                You need to install the titan pack by yourself if your providers is just simply updating the server to the newest version. The patch dose not include the titan pack. Good news are you can do that like me very simple by yourself. Just extract the UT3TitanPack.exe by hand (if you have Winrar or any other similar packer installed) with a simple right click and extract to or here. Then upload alle the files to your UT3 server installation.

                Well it works for me but so far only if i start the server without a username and password. If i try my luck with user / pass the server shuts himself down after finishing loading with the error i posted at the last page of this thread

                  her comes the problem... my upload speed is 20 KBPS ... and how can you start the server without a username and password?

                  Also would the Titan pack be installed properly on a linux server if i ask my provider to?

                    You can run any UT server without username or password but it won't show in the in game server browser list. You can direct connect with ip and port to the server, won't need to add user or password for that. So if you just want to run a server hosting password protected clan games you don't need a login for that.

                    The titan pack is just content like models, textures, sounds, sprites ... it's the same for windows and linux. Size is around 1gb packed content if your ftp server can resume uploads then you could try to upload it over night(s).

                      Oh that's cool... well i used to upload maps and stuff for UT servers which size is way smaller than UT3 contents and i had to leave it uploading during a night... 1GB would take forever lol.

                      But a try is better than nothing... can i upload the .EXE file and install it while it's on the server?.. or i can only upload the extracted file... in this case it's a public server which has to show up in the browser.

                        Looks like you are a paying customer and the titan pack is an officially released game content for the game / server. So my first choise would be to ask my hosting company why my server isn't updated and the titan pack not installed yet?

                        All execute commands should be blocked on your ftp account so uploading yes but executing or extracting content could be hard to impossible.

                        If i just could blame some company and support
