Windows Server 2008 install

Unable to install PC dedicated for PS3 in Windows Server 2008. The app reports that it is only compatible with XP or Windows Server 2003. Surprisingly, the pop up does not say it is compatible with Vista.

Others have reportedly installed this on Windows Server 2008. Does anyone have insight they can offer?

You can edit the msi package that's in the installere with orca or InstEd. You should look for the Table : LaunchCondition and delete the entry. Save the MSI and than you should be able to install the dedicated server.

Thanks for the reply.

Problem solved through brute force.

1. Copied over the installed files from the former XP install "Program Files" folder
2. Copied over 3 missing DLL files from XP System 32 folder to the Win2008 System32 folder when prompted they were missing

Runs like a champ now!

iAMGaming.com now has 2 dedicated VCTF (pure) and 2 dedicated Warfare (pure) servers open for public use.
