UT 3 compatibility

I bought UT 3 for my son this x-mas, and had set it up on my powerfull pc at home. I Configured it as an INternet server so my brother can join in my HOSTED game. Yet he could not see me. My question is, I am running UT3, he has UT (original), and UT 2004. Are previous versions not able to see my UT3?

Those are completely different games.
Did you really expect that someone with UT1 or UT2004 would be able to connect to a UT3 server or vice versa?
