    Server Crashes and .DMP files

Lately, one of our server has had some crashing. Now I thought it may have been due to the MASS amounts of chatlogs that were being stored on the server, so I cleared out several of them.

I also noticed that in the "Logs" folder, that I had a few .DMP files. I would assume these files are crash dumps. I tried to open one with wordpad to read, but it was all strange characters. I have a few more advanced text editors at home that I will try later.

Can anyone verify if these .DMP files are coming as a result of the crash, and if so how to read them. Thanks!

Those are from crashes but they are not text files (like log files) for the average Joe to "read" and determine what the problem is.

Anyone know what tool is used to "read" these?

I think you're better off creating a copy of the Launch.log file when the server crashes - this will have all the info you need regarding what happened at the time of the crash.

If you're running on Windows you can follow the example I've posted, Enhanced UT3 Batch File.

If you're running Linux, I'm sure it would be just as easy - but I can't help you with the scripting
