    UTWebAdmin under Linux - not starting - not creating UTWebAdmin.ini

    Hi Forum

    Problem: The UT Web Admin (version 1.1) does not start up - UTWeb.ini is being created, but no UTWebAdmin.ini
    Manually copying the default config also does not work.

    Machine is Debian GNU/Linux (Etch)

    Installation:
    - Created an unpriviliged user for everything
    - Downloaded Dedicated Server for linux and installed it.
    - Downloaded the 1.02 patch for linux dedicated server and installed it.
    - Downloaded UTWebAdmin 1.1 and unzipped it inside ~/ut3-dedicated

    started the server with commandline:
    (note: i replaced passwords and ip address with "***")

    and stopped it

    UTWeb.ini has been created in ~/Unreal Tournament 3/UTGame/Config/:
    - changed the listen port from 80 to 8080 because on 80 an apache is running already and an unprivileged user can't bind to a port < 1024
    - changed bIsEnabled to "True"

    Restartet the server, it does neither create the UTWebAdmin.ini nor started the http server.
    tried to copy the DefaultWebAdmin.ini to ~/Unreal Tournament 3/UTGame/Config/UTWebAdmin.ini - did not work

    I found where is located the ini files
    if you launched the server with the user "ut3-server"
    go into /home/ut3-user and you will find a folder named
    .Unreal Tournamen 3
    to enter this folder write:
    cd .Unreal\ Tournamen\ 3

      the webserver doesn't start when you don't use an actual gametype
      always start the server with a map on the launch url or you won't get a webserver instance
      the creation of UTWebAdmin.ini isn't vital for the webadmin to work, the only thing required is to set bEnabled to true for the UWeb.WebServer in UTWeb.ini
