    Setting/Checking Tickrate

How do you change the tickrate on your server and what is the best to set it at?

How do you check the servers tickrate to make sure it's running at what it is supposed to be?

To check it look at the "In Packets" in the F6 netstats. It will hover just below your tickrate setting.

To set it look for the tickrate parameters in the utengine.ini file. Set the one for netservermaxtickrate under tcp settings, not the demorec area. If you increase it you should also increase the netspeed setting, 20000 should be good.

be careful when setting the tick rate. Set it too high and the server will start lagging bad. Try to use increments of 1 or 2 and play on the server to see how it reacts. I have noticed that a higher tick rate can lower the overall pings of people on the server.

Higher tickrate = higher CPU usage. If your server cannot keep up it will lag, but if it has plenty of power you should be ok.
