  • Linux Server - Download Links

Here's a quick heads up for some download links for the UT3 server:

The following are normal links that you can download from:
    Torrent: http://tracker.ut-x.net/details.php?...3597c67a7cd12f
    Unreal.ie: ut3_dedicated_server_linux_1_1.bin
    Globe Network: http://www.globe-network.net/downloa...r-12172007.bin
    BeyondUnreal: http://download.beyondunreal.com/fil...r-12172007.bin
    IO Clan: http://www.io-clan.de/io/v2/download...tails&dlid=445
    Fileplanet: http://www.fileplanet.com/183214/180...icated-Server-
    Italy: http://gaming.ngi.it/download-4982-u...ed-server.html
    Via @Skillz: http://ut3.ut-files.com/index.php?di...r-12172007.bin

I'll add more links if people PM me them ( I haven't included the official links because they're so slow at the moment - I'll add them when they improve)

The FAQ at the top of this forum has links in it as well. The Torrent is still the recommended method as it seems to be working nicely.

Does anyone already know if this release by Icculus will support compressed redirects? Or is it REALLY based off the Epic code?

Supporting compression is an engine thing I guess, so there's nothing he can do about it. Besides, I don't think that you can compress files yet, anyway... ?

That's a silly question. Of course it is really based off Epic code. Do you think Icculus is just making up the patch code?

Do you think about things before you "open up your mouth" and mock people or is just plain cluelessness? Do you actually have an answer in your post? No, not really.

If Icculus is developing the server code for Epic *based* off their code, there could be server specific functionality he's incorporated -- such as compression for the redirect. If that is the case, then you could use the server binary to compress the files that are needed for the redirect. Or -- is his purpose only to port code to Linux. That role was never really made clear.

Answer: Of course it is really based off of Epic code. And yes, he ports the code. But, perhaps for you I should have said, he's not going to make up compression code before Epic does.

Social skills go a long way. Thanks for the lackluster clarification.

Just as a warning, this is being called a Beta still, because it's not been tested to a large extent yet. There are reports of people not being able to connect and players complaining of lag etc. when their pings are fine.
