    Dedicated still messed up?

    Could not run my home dsl server 1000Kbps up which is plenty to run a 10+ player server which I do in UT2004 NP.

    UT3 demo would not allow my server due to a bug ie, external to internal IP being messed up and not on my end ect which is well documented. So is this fixed now or what before I go buy?

    It was kinda hard to understand what problem you are having. But it sounds like you are running the demo and are having issues because your server is behind NAT. If this is the case then this problem is fixed in the dedicated (non-demo) server.

    You will want to use the -multihome=123.123.123.123 command at the end of your commandline, specifying your public IP.

    I think that this wont be necessary after the first patch, as Epic listed this as one of the items included in the upcoming patch:

    - Implemented STUN support (Simple Traversal of UDP Through Network Address Translators) to enable clients and servers to connect from behind a NAT.

      Ill assume then if this is the case I will have no problems running an "in game" dedicated server and not the free dedicated if I choose?

      In otherwords the demo was not working proper for server behind a NAT or even not behind a NAT or whatever I tried still did not work. My circumstances which is similar to many who run popular UT2004 servers with good upload speed and box could not run server for the UT3 demo!

      So its OK for me to go buy the retail with assurance that this issue is resolved?

      OR DO I GOT TO WAIT FOR A FRICKING PATCH?

        If your question is, "is the multihome feature fixed in the retail version?" then the answer is yes. Multihome has nothing to do with your upload speed though so if I'm missing your point then I apologize.

          No just saying I have plenty kbps up to run the server and this is not relevant in my case for clients being able to connect which they cannot in the demo.

          Just want to know if I can buy the game and run in game dedicated server just like I do for UT2004 or UT2003 or UT or Unreal 1 or LOTD or Devastation ect ect?

            <runs through babel.altavista.com>
            The dedicated (non-demo) server is also available for download (check for link in another thread), which does work from behind a NAT router. No patch necessary, but you do need to use the -multihome switch as mentioned above.
