    Old rig UT3 performance survey.

I figured i'd start a thread, a survey really, to see what kind of performance people with old systems are getting with the demo. I have a Athlon XP 3000+, 7600GT(OC 600/1500), 1.5 gigs of ram. I was able to run the game at 1024x768 texture detail and world detail at 3, screen @ 100%(whatever that setting was) and get 25-45 fps on the DM maps...during the VCTF map at times it drops shortly to high teens low 20's on the bridge if I have 11 bots going but rises and stays above 30 fps if i'm on other parts of the map. If I knock the bots down to 6 or 7 my FPS rise up to about 30 fps on the bridge and higher on the rest of the map. Obviously that's because of the AI and my CPU.

Dropping down to 800x600 I didn't really see a rise in FPS so I kept it at 1024x768.

I was surprised I was able to play @ 1024x768 at all. This game scales quite well, better than Bioshock.

Building a new system soon but for now I can at least play the game and it looks reasonably good.

So post the specs of your old **** system and let us know what kind of performance you're getting. And be honest don't inflate the numbers.

Also no flames from quad core owners and 8800 owners.

1024x768, max settings in demo, ~30 fps stable on ShangriLa, vs 8 bots.

Ut3 performance is a pretty good surprise.

          Pentium 4 3.0Ghz, x800Pro 256MB, 1GB

pretty stable performance between 30-40fps in 800x600, screen 100% text and world 3. But there was not a significant hit with increasing graphical quality. it's still playable at 1680x1050 everythin max, although if falls below 20 sometimes.

            P4 3ghz
            Radeon 9800XT
            1GB RAMM

1280x1024, max text&world 20 fps, drops to 10 fps in vCTF.

I wasnt expecting much of a 4 years old computer, this was the one i bought for UT2k3. Maybe ill buy a new one some day when i have too much cash, lets see how this game turns out.

              Radeon X200 128mb
              640x480
              lowest

5fps Allot higher in places where barely anything is being rendered on screen. (30 ish)

Haven't actually tested it on my half decent pc yet.

                KingMax 800Mhz 1 GB RAM

Running it on maximum details and resolution of 1280x720 with minimum twitching. Game is optimised perfectly.

Bull**** you're not getting 45fps with that CPU and card at that res. on those settings. Maybe sitting in a corner staring at a wall you are or during the menu.

@1280x1024: varies between 35-18 depending on what (or rather how much) I look at.

Overall I'm impressed with the 'backwards compatibility' of UT3

Getting 20+ FPS, spiking as high as 60FPS which is my cap since I use Vsync. Some intense combat it gets really low, but I've been impressed. I am running it as high quality as I can and it looks good and plays servicable.

What?! I have a P4 2.8Ghz, X800XL 256MB, and 1gig of RAM and I get about twenty frames when I'm looking at the ground. Is it just because I'm running Vista? Or does the 200mhz difference really affect it that much?
