    Technical Issues With Demo

According to the main site, the minimum requirements to play the game are:

    · Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
    · 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
    · 512 Mbytes of System RAM
    · NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
    · 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

    My system meets these requirements:

    · Windows XP SP2
    · 2.0 GHZ Single Core Processor
    · 1 Gbyte of System RAM
    · NVIDIA 6400 Video Card

When I load the demo, however, I get a whole slew of graphics issues:

    - Weapons flicker on and off of the screen when fired.
    - Textures jump in and out from looking properly to looking like they're damaged.
    - Colors appear to be solarized in pattern.

Any idea what could cause these issues? I am pretty computer illiterate, so if I have missed something obvious, my apologies.

Be sure that you have updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers.

Windows tells me that there are no updates found for the driver.

Grab them off the nvidia site, MS are notrious for not having 3rd party drivers available at release.

            ONE gig o' ram? :-)

i had a matched set of 2x1gig Corsair xms pro pc3200..

thought about it, counted my pennies, and got another matched set of 2x512 to bring me up to 3 gigs.

i just installed the 2x512 set yesterday so no way to compare old to new performance (UT3 demo wasn't yet out), but running BF2 and another game or two i saw a BIG difference in performance.

i also have a 4.5gig virtual memory partition on a secondary drive which seems to cut down on activity on the primary drive, which is on the other IDE cable.

learn to start reading the tech forums, there's things going on in that compy of yours you might be able to tweak or set properly to give it a kick in the butt!! :-)

Well, Looks like they stopped making them then. Ouch!

Does that mean I have to upgrade, despite meeting the technical requirements?

Never thought I'd have to do that for a game before.

Even though the numbers look good the thing that hurts you is that its a laptop chip set. They don't have all of the things that the desktop versions have. I would think it would still work if they made drivers for it.

Under the search set it to LEGACY drivers.

                      It'll be in there.

At least you can play, I can't even get the game to launch..

I didn't see it under Legacy also. The highest card there was a Geforce 4.

The 6400 Go is not under any of the categories.

Is it safe to assume that the reason the game is having these problems for me is that my card has not had recent drivers made for it, or are there other possibilities?

Also, (remember, I know very little about video card drivers) is it likely that a compatible driver will ever be made for my card from a third party?
