    Installation feedback

Please post your installation feedback/problems here

    #2
    It's more a question than a problem.
Installer requires Microsoft .NET 2.0 runtime for installation and I only see 1 file using the .NET framework : <Unreal Tournament 3 Demo InstallDir>\Binaries\ISCopyFiles.exe
This exe seems to do a simple copy, does it worth it ?

NOTE: .NET 2.0 runtime is already in Windows Vista, but requires an installation on Windows XP/2003.

.NET2.0 is also a prerequisite for the installer.

after clicking the setup file, it takes around 15 minutes before the installer actually appears. during that time all i get is the "busy"-Cursor.

I am using Vista 64 bit and i noticed that alot of Setup-Files take long before the setup-process actually launches, but the ut3 demo setup took the longest so far.

Ahh. I can't start it on Win Server 2003. "Modified executable code is not allowed..." still get the same error message. Hope the normal demo will work on win server.

The installer makes the OS unresponsive for extended periods of time, and it's uncompressed in C:\ no matter if it fits or not.

Yea i had to change to another drive cause i only had 1,6gb free and that was not enough for it to install but otherwise no problems.

There are reports of the same install (copied from 64 to 32) working only on the the 32-bit XP. I think it is just some random bug, but it doesn't make much sense.
