    Black screen crash, getting a black screen crash after I play a few moments, changing the map or while loading a map. After I crashed I have to reboot my PC to get it operational again. My hardware is:

    VGA: ASUS GeForce 7900 GS

    CPU: AMD Athlon X2 4400+

    Motherboard: ASRock AliveSATA2-Glan

    Memory: 1 Gb DDR2 ram pc 5300

    Its completely new, so I downloaded this demo as a performance-test. Well, unfortunatly there wasnt much to test!

      Game won't start at all - got windows error reporting msg several times on each attempt. Reinstalled & ran without AV both tries.

              Game Locks up when logging in

              So I've uninstalled/reinstalled UT3 a bunch of times and I still get the same problem. I used to have another problem where when I would run the game my screen would just go black but then i added bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True to the UTEngine.ini game loaded up. But now i can only play offline. When I put my username and password in the game just locks up. I see another mouse arrow come up and then I'm forced to hard restart my computer.

              My system Specs are:

              P4 3.06ghz with HT
              2x 512MB (1GB) Corsair XMS PC-3200 Ram
              Geforce 6800 (Latest Nvidia Drivers 163.71)
              Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
              Asus P4P-800-E Deluxe Motherboard
              1x 250GB SATA HD
              1x 160GB SATA HD
              1x 160GB IDE HD
              Windows XP Professional SP2

              I know my system is a few years old but the game should definitely run. If anyone has any ideas what it could be any help would be great thanks

                @swift231:
                A hint maybe:
                Open UTEngine.ini in "My Games\UT3Beta" and maybe even in the Install-Folder. Then find the line
                Code:
                Fullscreen=true
                and change it to
                Code:
                Fullscreen=false
                .
                Here is why: I noticed a crash of UT3 as well, when it tried to log in (the first time I created an account). The reason was my Firewall, which popped up and asked for permission to let UT3 contact the internet. But I could not see my firewall-dialogue, because my UT3 was in Fullscreen and did NOT switch back to my desktop.
                Maybe that helps.

                        minimum system requirements

                        NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card

                        Same problem friend - this being a likely cause. What graphic card are you using?

                        Looks like either shell out on a newer graphic card to update a 6 year old system... OR wait until the next to play this version of UT I've waited forever to play. Nothing like a game outliving equipment after years of dedication to playing. At least there are all prior versions to play - and they still WORK.

                        Would it have been too much to ask that it function on lesser systems in safe mode or some switch so everyone could have fun? Beats leaving those who can't always afford newest and latest out in the cold. Personally I plan to get a new system, but not until they sell one I want.

                        On the upside, by the time I replace mine, price of UT3 will probably drop. Everyone else works out bugs meantime, so go on and enjoy yourselves early adopters! Muahahaha When skills are fierce, you never fall behind...

                              SLI crash

                              Demo runs fine when i have SLI disabled but when SLI is enabled the demo crashes when i get in menu. Sometimes i have enough time to load a game but crashes after 10 secs.

                              I get 2 messages: One from Vista saying app closed and is trying to find a solution or something.
                              And i get a yellow triangle in system tray which pops up a message saying: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

                              Ive seen lots of people with the same problem but i havent found a solution yet. Well one solution was to rename UT3demo.exe to Bioshock.exe but that didnt help. Hope anyone can help out.
